Projet de Tramway de Béchar, Algérie
Today we arrive in Béchar: a mid-size city in western Algeria and one of the main urban areas in this part of the country close to the Moroccan border
This map is based on a planned proposition for a tramway line in the city
The project itself is pretty straightforward: a unique line would pretty much follow the path of the N6 highway that goes through Béchar - a highway part of the Trans-Sahara Highway 2 linking Algiers to Lagos, Nigeria
Yet again, as it has often been the case lately in Algeria, some tramway projects have either been put on hold, at best, or shelved away altogether and probably won't ever see the light of day any time soon
Anyway, I thought it'd nevertheless make for a simple, compact and very abstract little schematic; one that also momentarily closes that latest series of maps about Algerian tramway systems, planned and currently operating
